A year after announcing his retirement from baseball after sixteen years in the major leagues, Andy Pettitte announced today that he is coming out of retirement and rejoining the New York Yankees. The Yankees & Pettitte finalized a non guaranteed, $2.5 million Minor League contract with the 39-year-old left-hander.
Pettitte said about his decision “For me, it’s a no brainer, I’m not scared. I don’t think I’m going to fail, but I’m not scared to come back. I’m not worried about that. I’m going to trust that I know in my heart I’m doing the right thing. And I’m hoping and praying that it’s going to be great.”

New York Yankee Jorge Posada announced his retirement from baseball at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday morning, after 17 years with the team and five World Series wins. At the press conference Jorge said “Today is a very emotional day for me. Ever since I was a little kid, I remember that all I wanted to do was become a Major Leaguer. I became a member of the New York Yankees, and that’s all I wanted. I could never wear another uniform. Being a part of seven World Series and having five rings was something I never imagined, and being a part of it was just priceless. I will forever be a Yankee!”
As a Yankees fan this is a sad day. Thank you Jorge for all you have done through the years. We love you and you are going to be missed!
