MTV just announced that ‘Jersey Shore’ will be returning for a 6th season, with all seven cast mates including a pregnant Snooki. MTV said in a press release: “The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the ‘Shore’ take off in exciting new directions. While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same.” The cast are set to return to Seaside Heights, N.J., during this summer to begin filming.

8.8 million people tuned in to watch the fourth season premiere of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” it is the most watched opener to date, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Thursday night’s show was the channel’s third most watched series telecast of all time, only behind two “Jersey Shore” telecasts from Season three. MTV released the following statement “Last night’s episode delivered the biggest audience ever for an MTV season premiere with 8.8 million total viewers – a 4% increase over the “Jersey Shore” Season Three premiere on January 6, 2011 (8.45 million total viewers). The “Jersey Shore” Season Four premiere is MTV’s third most watched series telecast of all time (behind two “Jersey Shore” Season Three telecasts). In the P12-34 demo, the Season Four premiere averaged an 8.2 rating and 6.5 million viewers on par with its Season Three premiere (8.3 rating, 6.5 million viewers). Among P12-34, the “Jersey Shore” Season Four premiere is the #4 non-sports cable telecast of 2011, with “Jersey Shore” now occupying the top 14 non-sports slots on cable television this year.”

Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is getting her own E! True Hollywood Story, ‘THS’ will include a one-on-one interview with Snooki, also interviews with the reality star’s parents, friends from childhood, and of course her fellow Jersey Shore castmates. Snooki’s E! True Hollywood Story debuts July 27 at 10:00 PM EST.
